My parents have been married since May
28, 1976. Daddy is self-employed as a radio station engineer and
Mother homeschools what's left of the dwindling family.
Timothy (21) graduated from the ALERT
program in April '04, and is currently there on staff.
Shelley (18) is finishing up highschool and loves music
and the land of Israel.
Mark (12) has a knack for electronics and anything that
zaps, smokes or could potentially blow up.
Ryan (9) is an organizer and wants to
be a missionary in Mexico, Cuba, the Philippines, China and India
(in that order).
My family and I in December 2005
More details, random style:
- Pets include: three cats (Gabriella,
Bryows and Garfield) and one fish (Mr. Grumpy)
- The family has a two story home (five
bedrooms) on 18 acres, about 15 minutes from Hillsboro, WI.
- My paternal grandma lives with the family,
while a small apartment off the house is being built.
- Timothy works in the computer department
at ALERT, and also maintains the campus radio station.
- We're currently enrolled in the Advanced
Training Institute program; joined in February 2000.
- We love music! Besides piano, a variety
of instruments make up our "orchestra": Daddy with trombone
and cello, Mother with French horn and viola, myself with
flute, Timothy with mandolin, and Shelley and Ryan with violin.
We also enjoy singing! Timothy and I are involved with various
mixed groups at ALERT, and the family holds a service at the
local nursing home once a month.
- In ATI, my parents teach numerous music
classes, resulting in several trips to the Indianapolis Training
Center each year. Courses include: Piano Pedagogy, Hymn Improvisation,
Music History, Conducting, and Music Ministry and Worship,
though the favorite is the String Workshop each fall.
- Grace
Reformed Church in Reedsburg, WI is our home church.
- Inside jokes: unfortunately, we're full
of them. :-) Our favorite is "Olive Juice." It's a "Baldridge
thing" to exchange puns. We love humor -- and are constantly
learning together how to balance the joy of the Lord with
discretion and sensitivity.
-
When together, we enjoy:
movies, games (Chinese Checkers, Cashflow, Miles Bourne,
Catch Phrase or Rack-o), vacations, gardening, and debates.
:-)
-
Mark and Ryan can't wait
to join the ranks at ALERT when they graduate! For now,
they are active members in the local ALERT
Cadets program with other boys/dads. Daily journaling,
exercise and Scripture memorization are building great disciplines
in their lives!
